Job Description

As a Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) at the Good Samaritan Society, you'll serve as an experienced caregiver to our residents in long-term care. With a focus on resident-centered nursing care, you'll provide daily living assistance and support to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). You'll be responsible for delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of our residents, following infection prevention and control policies, and using Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

* Assist residents with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
* Provide psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents.
* Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate.
* Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
* Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
* Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
* Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
* Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
* Participates in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.

Qualifications

* High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
* Minimum age of 16.
* Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
* Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
* Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
* Maintains all department specific required certifications.

About the Location

This role is based in Sioux Falls, SD, where you'll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. With a range of amenities and activities available in the area, you'll be able to balance your work and personal life with ease.

Shift Information

This role is available for 8-hour evening shifts, with a shift differential and opportunities for advancement. You'll work a full-time schedule, with 40 hours per week, and have the opportunity to participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
