Position Overview

Our involvement spans a wide array of projects, from initial conceptual engineering to final commissioning and startup.

Job Responsibilities

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Lead Transmission Line Engineer to enhance our field services team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the design and engineering execution of transmission projects.
  • Possess a robust background in power/transmission systems, with a solid understanding of codes, standards, and industry practices for medium to high voltage transmission lines.
  • Conduct conceptual engineering design, analysis, and calculations for proposed projects.
  • Review and seal engineering deliverables necessary for the successful energization of overhead and underground transmission projects.
  • Oversee project management of the engineering components.
Key Duties

Typical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpreting codes, standards, and client requirements to create optimized design criteria documents.
  • Producing accurate PLS-Cadd / TOWER / Pole models that reflect project conditions and requirements.
  • Developing scopes of work, material specifications, and construction specifications to support project execution.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Leading capital project development, including feasibility studies and project scope definitions.
  • Managing and tracking costs and schedules of engineering deliverables, reporting to senior management as necessary.
  • Conducting site investigations and field reviews as required.
  • Reviewing and sealing final design prints.
  • Participating in technical meetings with other disciplines or clients.
  • Working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or PE.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Experience with industrial and/or utilities projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License.
