Job Summary
The Municipal Engineer will be directly responsible for the preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications, as well as engineering services during planning and design for new or existing urban-related projects.
Candidates will analyze current infrastructure systems and perform problem-solving using practical, creative thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptual and preliminary design activities, including site visits, fieldwork, alternate analysis, and report preparation.
- Collaboration with other engineering disciplines, planning districts, funding and regulatory agencies, and equipment suppliers.
- Implementation of innovative and creative designs into detailed plans and specifications.
- Coordination with construction-focused staff to ensure adherence to contract requirements.
Requirements
Applicants must have 10+ years of directly relevant experience in municipal-related projects and be a Registered Professional Engineer or have the ability to obtain licensure in South Dakota within 6 months.
