Job Description:

Position Overview:

As a CDL Class A Delivery Driver with Performance Foodservice, you will play a critical role in delivering food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner. This position requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers.
  • Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight, and complete all required paperwork associated with freight.
  • Deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule, and unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures, and collect money (cash or checks) where required.
  • Ensure that tractors, trailers, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured, and perform general housekeeping duties in tractors, loading dock areas, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
