Cardiac Echocardiographer

We are seeking a skilled Echocardiographic Technologist to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. As a key member of our Cardiology Department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of heart disease.

• Maintain knowledge of sectional anatomy and select the proper technical factors and imaging modes to produce high-quality images.
• Review images for quality before completion of the exam.
• Obtain and utilize pertinent medical history to obtain optimum exams and communicate with medical professionals.
• Coordinate echocardiographic procedures with appropriate departments and personnel.
• Ensure exams are completed in a prompt manner from receipt of requisition to interpretation.
• Utilize effective patient care and communication skills to obtain optimum patient rapport.
• Monitor patient condition and take appropriate action to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Respond promptly to STAT requests and perform sonograms within the required time frame.
• Function in other sections of the Cardiology Department as requested.
• Perform clerical tasks, including scheduling exams and faxing results.
• Review and recommend equipment/supply purchases.
• Maintain adequate inventory supply in the work area.

• Active RDCS certification required, or registry eligible.
• Healthcare Provider or Instructor BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Three to five years of experience in echocardiography preferred.
