Position Summary

The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for assembling and fabricating mechanical components using various tools and equipment in accordance with specified requirements within a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings to accurately produce equipment and products.
  • Experience with GMAW and GTAW processes in aluminum, steel, and stainless steel is preferred.
  • Utilize handheld tools such as screw guns, drills, and grinders effectively.
  • Operate precision measuring instruments including calipers and weld gauges.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assess and enhance welding machine technology to improve efficiency.
  • Set up and fixture weldments to meet specific geometric requirements.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet established standards.
  • Modify and repair welded components as per engineering specifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards in all tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with management to prioritize workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a 3G plate test is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Basic reading and comprehension skills are necessary.
  • Familiarity with computer navigation is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities are crucial.
  • Technical training or certification in welding is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
  • Manual dexterity is required for assembling parts accurately.
  • Capability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
