About the Role:

The Marion County Public Health Department is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Dental Health Department, you will provide exceptional support to our dentists and dental hygienists, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists in providing preventive care, operative treatment, and other dental procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic dental records.
  • Order and manage dental equipment and supplies, ensuring a well-stocked and organized inventory.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient and co-worker needs in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Participate in public health emergency preparedness exercises and respond to emergencies as directed.

Requirements:

  • Specialized education/training in dental assisting, normally acquired through 18 months of study.
  • Documentation of Dental Assistant Training.
  • 1 year of previous experience in a dental setting.
  • Current Dental Radiograph certification with the State of Indiana.
  • Documentation of Expanded Functions for Dental Auxiliaries, if functioning as an expanded functions dental assistant.
  • Current CPR certification.

Working Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high level of patient interaction. The position requires steady use of hands or fingers, with occasional bending, lifting, and carrying of equipment and supplies.
