About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Instrument Repair Technician to join our team at Music and Arts. As a key member of our repair team, you will be responsible for repairing musical instruments to the highest standards, ensuring they are returned to customers in excellent playing condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and repair a variety of musical instruments, including brass, woodwind, orchestral, and percussion instruments.
  • Provide accurate estimates for repair work and work to a high standard to meet customer expectations.
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and ensure that work is completed within estimated timeframes.
  • Repair instruments for customers of all levels, from students to professionals.
  • Perform work to a high standard, exceeding the shop's hourly rate, and ensuring excellent quality.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned, such as attending repair clinics or school events.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Apprenticeship or a diploma from an accredited repair school.
  • At least 6 years' experience working on musical instruments on a daily basis (preferred).
Physical Demands and Work Effort
  • Work in a noise environment.
  • Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift, push, and pull instruments and cases up to 75 pounds.
  • Work with mild cleaning chemical smells.
