Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of County Executive Director at the Farm Service Agency. This position requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of agricultural operations and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage program and administrative operations for one or more counties, ensuring effective implementation of farm bill programs and policies.
  • Carry out permanent and ad hoc farm bill programs and policies established by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), with a focus on crop insurance operations and farm loan program services.
  • Manage and direct activities of subordinate staff, providing guidance and support to ensure successful program outcomes.
  • Perform additional farm loan program assignments based on delegated authorities, with a focus on obtaining farm loan approval authority within handbook timeframe requirements.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements, including a minimum of one year of graduate education from an accredited college or university or one year of specialized experience equivalent to grade CO-5 or GS-5 level.
  • Superior Academic Achievement (GPA of 3.0 or higher) is also required.
  • Previous experience as a County Executive Director or County Executive Director Trainee at the CO-5 level is highly desirable.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Education
  • If qualifying based on education, submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses.
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts may be submitted at the initial phase of the application process.
