Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Morning Dish Washer to join our team at West Virginia University Hospital, Inc. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our dishroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all work areas for operation, including setting up, restocking, and cleaning assigned areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized appearance throughout the shift, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
  • Produce and maintain quality food and beverage products, adhering to standardized recipes and portion control.
  • Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers, taking orders, and serving food and beverages in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Follow menu cycles, utilize leftovers, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Document refrigerator, dish machine, and other equipment temperatures as assigned.
  • Alert facilities and management of malfunctioning equipment and properly operate, clean, and store equipment.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and pull a fully loaded patient meal cart (approx. 250 lbs.).
  • Ability to stand for entire shift and work in a noisy setting under deadline pressures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members.

Working Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with the ability to work in a hot, cold, and/or wet environment. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
