Emergency Care Unit Secretary

Position Overview:
In the role of Unit Secretary within the Emergency Care Center, you will provide essential clerical support under the guidance of the Registered Nurse. Your contributions will ensure the efficient operation of the patient care unit, aligning with the established policies and procedures of the Nursing Department.
Qualifications:
A. Educational Background and Skills
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; completion of a recognized Ward Clerk training program is required.
B. Professional Experience
A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Ward Clerk is necessary unless certification is held. Preference will be given to candidates with at least six (6) months of experience in a healthcare setting.
C. Certifications and Licenses
· Proficiency in required computer skills must be demonstrated within the first month of employment. Basic typing and prior computer experience are advantageous.
· For roles involving telemetry and/or critical care, successful completion of a basic dysrhythmia course for unlicensed personnel is required within one month or upon the first available opportunity.
· AHA BLS certification must be obtained within two (2) weeks of starting the position.
Employment Type:
Per Diem, as needed.
