Job Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) and general radiology procedures to produce high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. This role requires a strong understanding of radiology principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Performs accurate CT procedures according to established protocols and guidelines.
• Ensures correct patient positioning and prepares equipment for optimal image quality.
• Monitors patient condition before, during, and after scanning, and reports any critical findings to appropriate personnel.
• Explains procedures to patients, gathers relevant information, and reviews patient history and contrast history questionnaire forms.
• Performs contrast injections as ordered by physicians and accurately enters data into the HIS system.
• Assists physicians with invasive procedures as necessary and adheres to radiation safety measures.
• Supervises radiography students in the clinical setting and communicates with manager or department director on departmental productivity and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiology Technology program required.
• 2 years of clinical experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital setting preferred.
• ARRT (R) registered required, with ARRT (CT) registry certification required within 2 years of hire.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Healthcare Provider (HCP) - AHA approved required.
