Job Summary

College Fresh, Inc. is seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for supervising food preparation, organization, and daily kitchen operations at designated College Fresh accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan pastry production to coordinate with meal serving hours, ensuring established production procedures and systems are followed.
  • Prepare and coordinate preparation of breakfast and dessert pastries using established production procedures and systems.
  • Ensure availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation.
  • Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards.
  • Adhere to all management, client, local, and state cleaning and sanitation procedures/regulations.
  • Store food properly and safely, marking the date and item following company policy and local health regulations.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times. Clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.
  • Represent College Fresh in interactions with clients, including student members, corporate headquarters, local alumni, and house director or property manager on a daily basis. Provide excellent customer service in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Perform routine assignments such as dishwashing, mopping, sweeping, garbage removal, and other daily cleaning functions as assigned.
  • Assist with special event meal preparation, such as recruitment, homecoming, etc., as required.
  • Serve meals during meal service as required.
  • Assist on other workstations (grill, omelet, salad bar, etc.) during the absence of other staff.
  • All other duties as assigned (as directed and/or agreed upon with Chef or Food Service Manager).
Work Environment

This job operates in a kitchen environment, housed with equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chefs' knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 30 pounds or less.
  • The employee is required to stand for extended periods of time.
