Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Mount Sinai Hospital in Staten Island. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing. This is a full-time position working days, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients for laboratory testing
- Create requisitions through the EMR system and coordinate with the lab for specimen pickup
- Track and follow up on blood results for specimens sent to the lab
- Assist in the development of new methods and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Work with the lab to provide demographic and insurance information for patients
- Check Coumadin levels and communicate with providers and patients
- Foster an environment of open communication and teamwork
- Ensure compliance with department and organization policies and procedures
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Medical Assistant experience in a Cardiology or Internal Medicine Practice or equivalent combination of education and experience
