Job Summary

The Assistant Director, Pre-Health Advising is a key member of the Pre-Health Advising team who develops and implements group and individual advising programs for undergraduates and advises current students and alumni completing the Pre-Health Board Process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead group advising sessions for pre-health students, providing guidance on academic and professional development.
  • Co-teach non-credit courses for pre-health students, including Exploring Careers in Healthcare and Applying to Medical School and Dental School.
  • Represent the University with representatives from different health professions areas, including medical, dental, optometry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and nursing.
  • Lead assessment and evaluation initiatives, creating and maintaining reports to track admissions trends and academic performance for undergraduate students.
  • Supervise Program Administrators and temporary staff on key projects, such as the Sophomore Check-In and alumni engagement.
Qualifications

Masters degree in education, healthcare, or a related field, plus 3-5 years of related work experience. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and passion for improving access for underrepresented groups to professional healthcare fields.
