**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring patients are appropriately financially cleared for all appointments. You will perform eligibility verification, obtain pre-cert and/or authorizations, clear registration errors and edits pre-bill, and perform other duties as required.

**Responsibilities:**

  • ">
  • You will proactively contact insurance companies by phone, fax, online portal, and other resources to obtain and verify insurance eligibility and benefits and determine extent of coverage within established timeframe before scheduled appointments and during or after care for unscheduled patients.

  • You will meet department standard when obtaining pre-authorizations from third-party payers in accordance with payer requirements and within established timeframe before scheduled appointments and during or after care for unscheduled patients.

    ">
  • You will maintain close working relationship with clinical partners and physician offices to resolve issues with obtaining pre-authorizations.

    ">
  • You will conduct diligent follow-up on missing or incomplete pre-authorizations with third-party payers to minimize authorization related denials through phone calls, emails, faxes, and payer websites, updating documentation as needed.

  • You will ensure patient accounts are assigned the appropriate payor plans.

    ">
  • You will ensure all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits are updated and thorough to support post care financial needs.

    ">
  • You will create accurate estimates to maximize up-front cash collections and add collections documentation where required.

    ">
  • You will calculate patients' co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance.

    ">
  • You will provide personalized estimates of patient financial responsibility based on their insurance coverage or eligibility for government programs prior to service for both inpatient and outpatient services.

**Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • One year of customer service experience.

    ">
  • A high school diploma or GED.

    ">

**Benefits:**

We offer a competitive salary of $$$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
