Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Engineer/Start to join our team at San Jose Water Company. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing engineering work related to capital planning and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and plans for pipelines, pumps, tanks, and other water system facilities.
  • Support the development of engineering studies related to groundwater and surface water supply and water loss.
  • Assist with the creation, updates, and maintenance of AVEVA PI System applications, analyses, data, and dashboards.
  • Create, update, and calibrate complex water distribution system hydraulic models to optimize energy usage and size new or replacement facilities.
  • Assist with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting.
  • Assist with vehicle electrification program management.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in engineering mathematics and ability to solve problems with engineering calculations.
  • Ability to create well-written engineering reports.
  • Basic programming skills in Python or a similar language.
  • Ability to work independently and to complete challenging assignments.
  • Competent in the use of engineering and office software such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, CAD, and other software employed by the utility.
  • Experience and familiarity with engineering and construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with GIS platforms.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering and possession of a valid EIT certificate.
