**About the Role**

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Department Supervisor to oversee all aspects of our maintenance department, production lines, and affiliated equipment, building, and grounds.

**Job Summary**

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a team of mechanical craftsmen, drive innovation, and contribute to the success of our organization. As a Maintenance Department Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Scheduling work and manpower to meet production demands
  • Maintaining the preventative maintenance system and working towards meeting or exceeding plant safety and uptime goals
  • Controlling maintenance expenses by monitoring overtime and parts expenses weekly

You will establish and maintain mechanical integrity and equipment reliability programs to ensure employee safety, provide environmental security, and maximize plant availability, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Plan and schedule workforce efficiently for utilization of employees
  • Monitor downtime occurrences to maintain consistent operations
  • Monitor efficiencies of production lines, paying special attention to maintenance and mechanical trends
  • Train, motivate, and direct employees to adhere to safe work methods and standard procedures
  • Promote teamwork to achieve company goals and objectives
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with USDA officials
  • Control labor costs
  • Purchase supplies and repair parts with regard to quality
  • Control departmental overtime
  • Monitor machinery and equipment to ensure safety of employees
  • Enforce plant's safety program
  • Comply with OSHA safety regulations and standards

**Requirements**

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or other technical degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of previous maintenance experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, schematics, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
  • Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts

**Estimated Salary:** $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
