  • Work with the Air Force Research Laboratory Directed Energy Directorate (AFRL/RDSS) to develop and implement cutting-edge data systems that meet the needs of the organization.
  • As a Government Information Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex data systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Your duties will include performing systems administration, testing, troubleshooting, and correction of system and applications software discrepancies on both unclassified and classified networks.
  • You will also be responsible for operational support activities, including the installation, configuration, and integration of hardware and software from end-user to wide area network gateway.
  • Developing and modifying system, application, and process techniques, tactics, and procedures to meet mission objectives is also a key aspect of this role.
  • You will analyze customer requirements, then design and implement hardware and/or software solutions to meet requirements and comply with applicable standards.
  • Planning, designing, developing, and documenting computer networks to satisfy user requirements and achieve the required performance and throughput is a critical component of this position.
  • Developing cost, resource, and schedule estimates for hardware or software solutions is also a key responsibility.
  • Ensuring performance data collection and analysis tracking procedures support quality improvement objectives is a critical aspect of this role.
  • Additionally, you will plan for the development and implementation of improved information management systems capabilities.
  • Installing compilers, assemblers, and utilities and ensuring these systems and databases are continually up-to-date with the most current and applicable software versions, patches, and information available to support operations is also a key responsibility.
  • You will investigate IT solutions for complex, unusual, and often one-of-a-kind projects requiring integration of special instrumentation as well as customized software and hardware.
  • Programming and providing user training on standard systems, networks, and applications software is also a key aspect of this role.
  • Maintaining awareness of current and impending DoD, AF, AFMC, and AFRL policies and standards, which affect the configuration and operation of these systems, is a critical component of this position.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is between $73,484 and $115,388 per year.
