Position Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering professional nursing care and assumes accountability for a designated group of patients during a specified timeframe. This role involves utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing assessments focusing on physiological, psychological, and cognitive status.
- Develop a prioritized, goal-directed care plan based on nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
- Deliver care consistently and knowledgeably, ensuring continuity.
- Establish patient care priorities based on essential needs and available resources.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care and monitor patient progress towards outcomes.
- Identify and address the learning needs of patients and their significant others.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary functions to enhance patient care.
- Adhere to all compliance responsibilities associated with the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Current RN license in the state of Connecticut; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; minimum of one year of experience in PACU/ICU.
- Desired: Nursing certification; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Work Environment
This position is per diem with variable shifts. The role requires significant manual dexterity and may involve exposure to various occupational risks. The Registered Nurse may need to exert considerable physical effort and may encounter challenging environmental conditions.
