Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Speech Recognition Scientist to join our innovative team at Zoom. As a key member of our Speech Technology department, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge speech recognition solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the success of our AI-powered collaboration platform.

About the Team:

The Zoom AI Speech Team is a dynamic group of experts dedicated to improving the conversational AI experience through speech recognition technologies. Our team is responsible for developing speech recognition technologies for Zoom's conversational AI experience, including Zoom AI Companion, Zoom Meetings, Zoom Contact Center, Zoom Phone, and Zoom Revenue Accelerator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Speech Recognition Research and Development: Design, develop, and deploy novel automatic speech recognition (ASR) solutions on large-scale datasets to deliver a unique AI-powered collaboration platform.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product and science engineering teams, to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact projects from inception to completion.
  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in speech recognition topics, including modern end-to-end ASR architectures, language modeling, decoding algorithms, on-device ASR models, personalization and adaptation, semi-/self-supervised learning, multilingual and robust ASR, LLM-integrative ASR.
  • Technical Skills: Possess hands-on programming skills in Python, shell scripts, and familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.

As a valued member of our team, you will be eligible for a competitive salary range of $167,000 to $365,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including bonuses and equity value. Our location-based compensation structure ensures that your compensation is commensurate with your qualifications and experience.
