We are seeking a highly skilled Category Analyst to join our Procurement, Contracting and Payment Services unit at West Virginia University. As a Category Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of strategic sourcing category/commodity strategies and ensuring that assigned commodities are properly managed and support stakeholder/supplier requests.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and contracting, with experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation. You will be responsible for conducting research on market trends, analyzing supplier performance, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

• Support the development of strategic sourcing category/commodity strategies
• Conduct research on market trends and analyze supplier performance
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
• Prepare and present reports on procurement and contracting activities

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 6 months experience in procurement and contracting
• Administrative and/or professional experience in an office setting
• Experience with Microsoft products and ERP systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
