Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Midwife to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to women in various clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical knowledge and expertise in obstetrics and gynecology, with a strong focus on education, counseling, and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough history and physical examinations/health assessments of patients and families, identifying real or potential health problems.
  • Provide referrals to other health professionals and community agencies as needed, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Initiate selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including non-stress testing and biophysical profiles, under the scope of midwifery practice.
  • Manage the medically uncomplicated and low-risk patient throughout the maternity cycle, following progress of pregnancy and labor in the office and labor and delivery suite.
  • Assume management of labor and delivery for medically uncomplicated, low-risk patients, with mutual agreement from physicians and midwives.
  • Make daily rounds on routine postpartum floors independently, examining patients and performing related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university with successful completion of specific science courses.
  • Master's Degree in Midwifery from an accredited midwifery educational program.
  • Current license to practice as a Midwife in the State of New York.
  • American Midwifery Board Certification.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Additional Information
