Job Overview

GeorgiaGov is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a full-time position. This role comes with State Benefits and requires working 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. on the 3rd shift.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing client health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. Additionally, they will administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients, provide education to clients and their families, and ensure that proper nursing care is provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess client health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients.
  • May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
  • Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients' charts.
  • Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans. Maintains accurate, detailed reports and client records.
  • Monitors all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activity.
  • Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in clients' conditions.
  • Observes nurses and visits clients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided.
  • Prepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments.
  • Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained.
  • Provides health care, first aid, immunizations and assistance in convalescence and rehabilitation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND any related professional work experience. Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience in a behavioral health setting.

Benefits:

This position comes with State Benefits and offers a competitive salary range of $65,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience.

Additional Requirements:

Candidates must undergo evaluations, vaccinations, and professional licensure and certifications as required by DBHDD. The following are a listing of evaluations and vaccinations that may be required: Drug Screening, TB Evaluation, and Annual Influenza vaccination.

Salary Range: $65,000-$90,000/year
