Job Summary

Columbia Energy is seeking a skilled Welder II to join their team. As a Welder II, you will be responsible for performing welding operations on critical and support equipment, reading and understanding engineering drawings and welding symbols, and ensuring that all documentation is filled out correctly and kept current.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform welding operations on critical and support equipment to a qualified Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and welding symbols
  • Ensure that all documentation is filled out correctly and kept current
  • Interface with QA/QC personnel
  • Report unsafe conditions and unsafe equipment
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience with a list of previous welding qualifications; OR a combination of 1+ years' experience and an Associates of Applied Sciences in Welding Technology or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a Columbia Energy weld test
  • Ability to operate tools, machinery, and vehicles safely
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend both verbal communications and written directions

This position is performed in a shop/construction/field setting. The atmosphere is fast-paced and deadline-oriented with focus on safety and quality.
