Position Summary
We are seeking multiple Postdoctoral Researchers to contribute to our dynamic team of Computational Bioengineers. This role involves pioneering research to develop a cutting-edge, machine learning-based computational framework for protein design and the optimization of protein-protein interactions within the Center for Predictive Bioresilience (CPB). CPB is a vibrant engineering center that integrates predictive computational modeling, machine learning, and experimental biology to advance medical countermeasures.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project scientists and engineers to evaluate and implement computational frameworks tailored for protein design.
- Develop analytical methodologies, analyze data, and document research findings through presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Support the development of new capabilities and address technical challenges.
- Ensure quality standards for project deliverables through meticulous documentation of methods.
- Publish research outcomes in scientific journals and present findings at conferences and seminars.
- Engage in travel as necessary to coordinate research efforts with collaborators.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- PhD in Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in developing and applying algorithms in machine learning areas such as protein structure analysis, deep learning, and feature learning.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, demonstrated through publications or software contributions.
- Familiarity with protein structures and bioinformatics, enabling effective communication with team members.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to apply computational techniques in engineering contexts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork and technical presentations.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
- In-depth understanding of protein structure bioinformatics and prediction methodologies.
- Experience with high-performance computing and related techniques for complex simulations.

This position offers a postdoctoral appointment with potential for extension, designed for candidates who have recently completed their PhD.
