Role Purpose:


As a Shuttle Driver, you will be integral to our operations by transporting empty trailers to our warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to designated shuttle yard locations.

Your responsibilities will include transporting empty 28' coupled trailers (doubles) from the HUB location to the home location in Leitchfield, KY, and returning loaded doubles to the HUB. Standard pre- and post-trip inspections, as well as coupling and uncoupling, are part of your duties.



Key Responsibilities:


The Shuttle Driver operates tandem trailers, tractor-trailers, and/or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations.

Delivers full trailers containing various products to designated shuttle yard locations safely and promptly, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Engages professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring accurate and timely responses to inquiries.

Works collaboratively within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.


Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


Conducting all necessary safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations; ensuring that all vehicles meet company safety standards and taking appropriate actions as needed.

Reporting any safety issues or required repairs.
Adhering to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies, promptly reporting any safety hazards.
Inspecting trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
Ensuring all necessary route documentation is with the tractor-trailer load and available to the driver upon dispatch.
Driving and delivering trailers according to a predetermined route schedule.
Performing hook/unhook procedures in accordance with safety guidelines. Parking and storing tractor-trailers in designated areas.
Ensuring all equipment and freight are securely locked and/or always secured.

Collecting and securing damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers to bring back to the driver check-in at the base facility and completing necessary paperwork.

Unloading all equipment, materials, and removing trash from trailers as required.

Maintaining a daily record of hours of service and logging them in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.

Performing general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keeping trailers clear and clean as required.
Executing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.

6+ months of commercial driving experience.

Valid CDL-A with Doubles Endorsement preferred, but training is available.

Must meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.

Must pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.

Must pass a road test.

Must possess or be able to obtain a valid current DOT Health Card.

Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift; product generally ranges from 10-35 pounds and up to approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location.
