Production Control Specialist

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Production Control Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate manufacturing schedules and coordinate material flow to meet customer requirements
- Perform shop order release/closure in the MRP System and reconcile parts
- Provide detailed status of work in progress and communicate constraints to schedule
- Prepare work orders for part production based on the master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements
- Coordinate interdepartmental activity with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics, and program
- Schedule and expedite part movement using move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders
- Work cross-functionally to expedite material shortages with procurement, receiving, quality, and other production areas
- Implement material stocking strategies on production lines, monitor, control, and maintain proper floor stock
- Control access and consumption of material in manufacturing
- Monitor production line flow and partner with Production to ensure work is completed on time to schedule
- Monitor disposition of MRB and stranded material
- Enter material transactions in the ERP system
- Prepare reports and note shortages/damage
- Process scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required
- Prepare for, conduct, and assist in cycle count reconciliation
- Knowledge of backflush process
- Work with Production and Materials teams to resolve part discrepancies
- May interface with departments throughout the company
- 1+ years of production planning or supply chain experience
- Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling
- Experience working with a cross-functional team
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office, ERP experience with MRP execution desired
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates understanding and can apply continuous improvement terminology/tools: LEAN, Six Sigma principles/DFSS/Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree
- SQL or Advanced Excel Experience
- Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel on occasion
- Based upon job duties, may need to work in various areas that may cause exposure to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA and ACGIH exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, and/or be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary
- Experience with ERP systems
- Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion, program priorities, and management and customer decisions
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc)
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong math and analytical skills to solve problems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
