Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Stamford Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy services, ensuring accurate and timely medication delivery, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring timely restocking and rotation of stock.
  • Perform controlled substance inventory, reviews, and reporting, adhering to departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist pharmacists in providing timely pharmacy services, including medication delivery, problem-solving, and patient care.
  • Prepare and fill floor stock requests, including emergency code trays and medication kits.
  • Perform billing and charging duties as required.
  • Conduct monthly inventory inspections and maintain refrigerator and freezer temperature logs.
  • Package medications accurately using Talyst packager or barcode labeling equipment, adhering to NDC and barcode regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal pharmacy services.
  • Manage and operate pharmacy equipment safely and correctly, performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives, complete required training and education, and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Pharmacy technician state registration (CT license) required.
  • National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) preferred upon hire, with one year to obtain certification for continued employment.
