Position Overview
The Lead Supply Chain Strategist is tasked with the development and management of the Master Production Schedule for designated facilities and product lines. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient use of company resources while fulfilling customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulates and oversees the Organic/Specialty Crops Production Schedule, ensuring alignment with daily and projected production requirements across all facilities and external customer needs.
- Collaborates with merchandising and trading departments to address potential challenges related to product demand and capacity limitations.
- Engages with the sales and operations planning team, fostering effective communication between the corporate headquarters and management at various facilities.
- Monitors daily positions of organic grains and oilseeds, executing plans and communicating solutions under management guidance to optimize supply chain effectiveness.
- Independently prepares and implements supply plans for organic and specialty crop operations, requiring a comprehensive understanding of facility operations, production capabilities, and inventory management.
- Coordinates logistics involving trucks, rail, barges, and vessels to meet contractual obligations for both internal and external clients, including inter-company contract management.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 12+ years of experience in a related field.
- Proficient understanding of Supply Chain principles and SAP functionalities related to inventory management and production scheduling.
- Willingness to travel for overnight assignments to customer or vendor locations.
- The role is primarily sedentary but may involve occasional movement between offices.
- Work is conducted in an office setting with open partitions.
- Exposure to a range of temperatures from 28 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, including high humidity levels.
- Handling of products may occur at temperatures between 25 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Noise levels may vary from 50 dB to 110 dB.
- Compliance with safety protocols and use of protective equipment as mandated by the company is required.
