We are seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Vibrational Analysis Engineer to join our team in Silverdale, WA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior engineers for design reviews, troubleshooting, and implementing technical solutions associated with US Navy-related acoustics systems.
- Perform a variety of moderately complex software and/or hardware engineering activities of an analysis, design, or test nature.
- Participate on project teams and provide guidance to less experienced engineers and technical staff. Plan, conduct, and may supervise research, development, or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specifications.
- Support the Submarine, Surface Ship, and Aircraft Carrier Vibration Monitoring Program.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for advanced fleet support and project management of acoustic signature programs for the Submarine Stealth Integration Program Office (SSIPO), SUBLANT, SUBPAC, CNAP, and CNAL.
- Analyze advanced machinery and hull vibration measurements.
- Assist the TPM for Navy Digital Twin (NDT) in all NDT efforts.
- Provide advanced signature assessments with recommended corrective action on shipboard machinery systems.
- Develop condition-based maintenance criteria and procedures for future ships and submarines.
- Collaborate, research, and test advanced sensors, measurement/analysis systems, and technologies.
- Mentor junior-level technicians/engineers.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's of Science degree.
- 15+ years of experience in submarine/surface acoustic theory, measurements, and machine vibration characteristics.
- Willingness to travel 10% to various U.S. Naval Installations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expert experience in analysis of marine structure-borne and machinery problems.
- Expert knowledge of ship systems and design.
- Expert knowledge of principles of acoustics, signal processing, sound propagation, machinery health monitoring, machinery vibrations, and structural vibrations.
- Expert knowledge of analysis techniques to identify problems affecting radiated noise levels. Ability to train ships force personnel on all analysis techniques within the MCA program.
- Expert knowledge of theories and concepts of acoustics, including acoustical measurements, analysis, and theory.
- Experience with basic computer operating systems and software.
- Experience with working in a team environment.
- Expert in Submarine machinery vibration monitoring and analysis.
- Expert knowledge in machinery vibration analysis for equipment condition-based maintenance.
- Expert knowledge in installation and operation of vibration data acquisition and analysis equipment.
- Extensive experience with operation of Submarine systems.
- Expert knowledge of shipboard machinery and machinery systems and the impact of these systems on the noise posture of the ship.
- Familiarity with CVN Aircraft Carrier machinery vibration monitoring and analysis.
- Expert knowledge in machinery vibration analysis for equipment condition-based maintenance.
- Expert knowledge in installation and operation of vibration data acquisition and analysis equipment.
- Familiarity with the operation of surface ship and Aircraft Carrier systems.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Occasional movement about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Frequent communication with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Ability to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Work in confined spaces and challenging environments, as required for submarine maintenance and repair.
Compensation:
The projected compensation range for this position is $143,600-$239,300. Differentiating factors, including Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills, and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications, as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories, may impact a final salary/hourly rate.
