Job Title: Bus Driver

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Bus Driver to transport students to and from school safely and efficiently.

Job Summary

The Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, and maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely transport students to and from school, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle, including daily inspections and maintenance.
  • Accurately record and maintain logs of bus inspections, mileage, and mechanical repair orders.
  • Check and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all children adhere to safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a valid and current CDL license.
  • Submit accurate reports, including passenger counts, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Safely assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, students, teachers, and the supervisor.
  • Enforce rules for behavior and procedure, ensuring order among students.
  • Document and communicate any incidents or issues that may arise during transportation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL Class B License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements.
  • Ability to pass a yearly School Bus Physical.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions

The employee will be exposed to various working conditions, including wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.

The employee will also be required to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme temperatures.

The noise level in the work environment will be very loud.
