Job Description

Position Purpose:

A Personal Banker II (PB II) is responsible for maintaining and building customer relationships by providing an exceptional customer experience. A PB II is also responsible for opening new accounts, completing loan applications and responding to customer inquiries and requests while identifying opportunities to expand current banking relationships. The PB II demonstrates Civista Bank's mission to improve the financial lives of our employees and shareholders, to make a difference in the communities that we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers daily to build strong relationships, process transactions, assess needs, recommend products, and refer partners to customers.
  • Adhere to regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and soundness of customers and the bank.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of products and services to fulfill customer needs, drive sales production, and execute customer requests efficiently.
  • Understand consumer lending and new accounts, build customer trust, and manage relationships throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Commit to daily personal growth through active learning, adapting to new procedures and systems to grow the organization and the team.
  • Maintain cash levels and outages within established guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively internally and externally.
  • Encourage the use of technology in daily banking interactions, including teaching customers how to use technology, mobile banking, P2P, online banking, etc.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of previous teller experience required.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Above-average knowledge of technology and willingness to adapt to new software technologies.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruptions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work involves eye strain due to constant computer screen use, reading reports, etc.
  • Work involves concentrating on tasks under distracting work conditions.
  • Work involves lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Work involves reading, hearing, writing, and communicating professionally in person and via telephone.
  • Work involves some travel to attend meetings, training, etc.
