Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist to join our team at Heart Hospital of Austin. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and contributing to the success of our cardiovascular program.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility with a team of experienced professionals who share your passion for delivering exceptional patient care. As a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, as well as participating in the care and cleaning of operating room equipment.
Responsibilities- Assist in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite
- Participate in the care and cleaning of operating room equipment
- Perform patient care within the scope of training of the operating room technician and under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN)
- Prepare patients, equipment, and operating rooms for each procedure/surgery
- Maintain a clean and safe operating room suite for surgical patients
- Perform intra-operative management of assigned procedures and anticipate needs of the surgeon
- Assist the circulating nurse in maintaining correct instrument counts
- Be responsible for supply and equipment management, including determining needs, ensuring availability, and maintaining equipment through proper sterilization
- Previous experience or training in Surgical Technician curriculum
- Previous experience with Cardiovascular cases as a Surgical Technologist
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Graduate from an accredited education program for Surgical Technology, OR graduate from an appropriate training program in the US Armed Forces or US Public Health Service
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. Davids Healthcare policy
- Surgical Technologists that graduate after September 1, 2009 must hold and maintain a current certification as a Surgical Technologist within 180 days from the date of graduation
