Golden State Peterbilt, a subsidiary of E.M. Tharp Inc., is seeking a highly skilled Service Technician Journey Level 5 for their Bakersfield location. This is a critical role in the Service Department, responsible for performing expert-level diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on PACCAR MX and Cummins diesel engines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify and address complex mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues.
  • Conduct major engine overhauls, including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with foremen and parts department to coordinate repairs and order necessary components.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technical advancements, service procedures, and diagnostic software for both PACCAR MX and Cummins engines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in Technician work in a heavy/medium-duty application.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license. Class A preferred.
  • Completion of a diesel technology program or apprenticeship is preferred.
  • Continuous participation in professional development activities, such as workshops, seminars, and online courses, to stay current with evolving technologies and industry best practices.
