About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Formlabs. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for driving technical readiness and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive results from early prototype phases through project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Manufacturing Technical Readiness: Collaborate with R&D teams to drive results from early prototype phases through project completion.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA): Support product, system, and process design to ensure manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
  • Establish Industrialization and Production Readiness: Collaborate globally with Formlabs teams, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to establish industrialization and production readiness.
  • Ensure Critical Product Specifications: Address critical product specifications through critical processes and corresponding process control points.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex engineering and operational challenges.
  • Process Control and Issue Prevention: Implement tools, equipment, and process methods to ensure reliability and quality.
  • Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement: Drive optimization and continuous improvement using factory data to analyze process capabilities at suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Requirements
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically approximately 10-20%.
  • Experience: Experience in design and manufacturing engineering roles for complex NPI product industrialization.
  • Global Contract Manufacturers: Experience with global contract manufacturers in bringing electromechanical systems from prototype to mass production.
  • Independent and Self-Starter: Independent, self-starter with a strong ability to think strategically and execute tactically with persistent attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills; presenting at all business levels.
  • Education: B.S. Degree in Engineering; mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, systems, or related field.
Bonus Requirements
  • Data Visualization and Statistical Analysis: Experience with data visualization and statistical analysis tools (SQL, Tableau, JMP, Minitab, etc).
  • Program/Project Management Tools: Utilization of program/project management communication tools such as JIRA and Asana.
  • System-Level Interactions: Desire to deeply understand system-level interactions of complex electro-mechanical products.
  • Engineering Drawings: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T) to define and evaluate product quality.
