Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Fitter Welder Apprentice to join our manufacturing team at Johnson Controls. As a Fitter Welder Apprentice, you will be responsible for the local delivery and execution of fit up, fabrication, and core welding to vendors and managers in accordance with our company principles, corporate policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply minimum of 6 months of MIG welding experience into product.
- Operate Miller Aluma Pro Mig gun and successfully apply fit up, fabricate, and weld discipline into standard models.
- Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as GMAW and Plasma Cutter.
- Operate manual and semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- Maintain safe work practices.
- Conduct technical inspections.
- Prepare input for various management and log reports.
- Read and review blueprints and specifications; ensure drawings and specifications will function as designed in environment intended for use.
- Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
- Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair/rework techniques.
- Complete motor coupling installations.
- Participate in training program as trainee/trainer as required.
- Practice and promote 5S throughout facility.
- Participate in kaizen events.
- Other assigned work as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of MIG Alloy and Steel welding experience.
- Follow Operation Description Sheet (ODS) and Training Documents.
- High School Diploma, GED or certifications.

- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
