Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Physician Assistant to join our team at the IBD Center, supporting our outpatient surgery practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care, coordinating services, and ensuring sound clinical resource utilization per protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the mission, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives of the institution, department, and clinical service.
- Plans and organizes care to meet individual patient needs, ensuring appropriate clinical resource utilization.
- Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, including attending physicians, to develop and implement therapeutic plans of care.
- Participates in the development and revision of hospital standards, patient and family education materials relevant to the area of practice.
- Facilitates continuity of care across the continuum of services, promoting efficient patient throughput during admission and discharge.
- Demonstrates knowledge of organizational Core Values, incorporating them into responsibilities.
- Functions as a respectful member of the healthcare team, promoting professional growth and development.
- Maintains current expertise in the area of practice, adhering to annual CME requirements and PA board certification.
- Serves as a clinical expert and resource for peer education and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
- Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA).
- NCCPA Board Certification.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP Provider, and/or NALS, per delineation of privileges.
- Experience on an inpatient surgery floor or outpatient surgery office is strongly preferred.
- General/specialty medicine or OR/procedural experience is required.
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This range reflects the typical compensation for a Physician Assistant in the New York City area.
