El Rio Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our mission to deliver comprehensive, quality health care to our community.
Key Responsibilities- Support Dental Department Operations: Assist dentists and hygienists in delivering quality dental services to patients, performing procedures identified as allowable under Arizona State Dental Laws, and completing other duties authorized by dentists and supervisors.
- Patient Care and Preparation: Prepare patients for dental treatment by taking and recording blood pressure, seating patients, and preparing them for the provider at the appointed time.
- Instrumentation and Sterilization: Maintain a clean and safe working environment by keeping operatories, dental lab, sterilization area, and other work areas clean and organized, properly cleaning, storing, and maintaining dental instruments, hand pieces, and sterilization units.
- Team Collaboration and Communication: Contribute to a smooth workflow by working effectively with all providers and team members, promoting a positive and productive team environment.
- Administrative Tasks: Accurately record treatment, code charges for services, prepare treatment plans on dental charts, and enter progress notes/treatment plans in the computer as indicated according to policy/procedures.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.), Certificate of completion from an accredited Dental Assistant Program, and/or at least 3 years of chairside dental assisting experience.
- Licenses and Certifications: Current Arizona Board-approved certificate in radiology, Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers, and Level I fingerprint clearance card.
- Work Experience: One (1) year's work experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Language Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read, and write in both languages.
