Job Title: Cylindrical Grinder Operator

Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities:

This role involves the setup, operation, and adjustment of OD/ID grinding machinery to achieve specified dimensions for inner and outer diameters of components.
  • Conduct setup, operation, and adjustments of grinding machines.
  • Execute tasks according to setup sheets or customer specifications.
  • Ensure machine setup accuracy by inspecting and verifying product characteristics against part print specifications, using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Select, dress, and mount grinding wheels as per specifications, utilizing hand tools and knowledge of abrasives.
  • Inspect and measure workpieces to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • May involve setting up and operating measuring devices.
  • Monitor machine functions to identify necessary adjustments, halting operations when issues arise.
  • Assist and mentor colleagues as required.
  • Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair coordination.
  • Operate power tools and machinery adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-5 years of relevant grinding experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Visual acuity for precision tasks.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Willingness to stand for the duration of the shift.
Additional Skills for Success:
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
  • Adherence to designated safety regulations is essential.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and other industrial elements.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, as production demands dictate.
