Job Summary

University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an Infusion Specialist. This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in chemotherapy infusion, emergency, or critical care nursing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner, utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service.
  • Oversee nurses and allied health staff in their daily practice, providing therapeutic and chemotherapy injections and infusions in the outpatient setting.
  • Assess assigned patients and evaluate plans, including documentation of nursing care, and report symptoms and changes in patients' condition and vital signs.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses, conditions, and physician orders.
  • Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient's condition, and consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals related to assigned patients.
  • Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering patient age and culture during patient treatments.
  • Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support, and perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within the scope of practice.
  • Administer and maintain accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders.
  • Communicate plan of care in a timely manner to patient and family, as well as the appropriate team members, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN required.
  • Valid Florida RN License, BLS/ACLS certifications required.
  • Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course, certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in chemotherapy infusion, emergency, or critical care nursing.
