Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)

Compensation: UP TO $21/hour

Opportunities available for Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem across all shifts

Shift options: 8 or 12 hours

Key Responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant:

  • Deliver personal care to residents in line with established policies and procedures, including oral hygiene, skin care, hair and nail grooming, shaving, and bathing.
  • Accurately document and report routine vital signs, weights, and bowel movements in accordance with policies.
  • Maintain awareness of residents' comfort and safety needs.
  • Report any physical or psychological changes in residents to the licensed nursing staff.
  • Assist residents with toileting needs, including the use of urinals and bedpans, ensuring proper cleanup and disposal.
  • Check on incontinent residents every two hours and provide necessary changes.
  • Turn and reposition residents every two hours or more frequently as required.
  • Practice safe lifting, moving, and transferring techniques for residents.
  • Assist residents with mobility as needed, including transportation to and from activities.
  • Keep residents' rooms and closets organized and tidy, adhering to safety standards.
  • Change linens and make beds as required, ensuring soiled items are sent to laundry in accordance with procedures.
  • Empty soiled clothing and linen hampers as necessary.
  • Deliver food trays, snacks, and beverages promptly, assisting residents in dining areas as needed.
  • Monitor residents during meals, assisting with feeding when necessary, and accurately record food and liquid intake.
  • Support the admission process for new residents, including re-admissions, discharges, and room assignments.
  • Adhere to safety practices and universal precautions in all tasks.

Qualifications for a Certified Nursing Assistant:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Current certification as a geriatric nursing assistant in the state of Maryland is required.
