Credit Union 1 is seeking a skilled Recovery Collector to join our team. As a key member of our collections team, you will be responsible for conducting research to create comprehensive records to assist outside counsel or third-party collectors in the recovery of losses for Credit Union 1 while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research to create comprehensive records to assist outside counsel or third-party collectors in the recovery of losses for Credit Union 1.
- Support the department on daily payment processing and email or mail correspondence.
- Perform various activities delegated by the Sr. Recovery Collector or Recovery Manager.
- Maintain professional relationships with outside counsel and third-party collectors to accurately update ongoing recovery matters.
- Respond to emails and calls by assisting internal departments and members.
- Track invoices from outside counsel and keep records of paid items.
- Manage and process payments received for ongoing recovery accounts.
- Aid in the resolution of ChexSystems disputes.
- Minimum two years of collection experience, preferably in banking or a related field.
- Requires a high school diploma.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and detailed.
- Experience with Word, Excel, social media, and general research on the internet.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and strict confidentiality.
