Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team on a travel assignment in California. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography procedures in a physician office, clinic, or hospital setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Mammography Procedures: Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others.
  • Prepare Patients: Instruct/communicate with patient and/or patient's family regarding the test to be performed and assess patient's ability to tolerate exam.
  • Operate Equipment: Prepare patient or area for mammography procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Maintain Patient Safety: Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment and report issues to management or appropriate department.
  • Document Patient Information: Obtain, verify and maintain all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions taken, consent forms, etc.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Mammography Tech (Certified Mammography Tech)
  • Certifications: AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
  • Education: BSN from accredited nursing program, and proper licensure
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients, and families
