Job Title:
Lead, Systems Engineer - NGJ

Job Summary:
L3Harris' Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Senior Specialist Systems Engineer to support the life-cycle of protected SATCOM data link systems from conceptual development through product phase-out.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides extensive systems engineering expertise in a broad field of engineering, research, evaluation, and development for highly complex and technical SATCOM, airborne, and ground products.
  • Performs research and development in assigned engineering discipline.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of technical projects or portions of projects.
  • Specifies, architects, analyzes, models, establishes flow downs, and verifies designs, tests, and verifies complex engineering tasks in electrical, mechanical, optical, software, systems, and/or hardware components.
  • Assists in the capture and/or management of customer and derived requirements, decomposition, and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility, insuring traceability from a verification test matrix back to original customer and system level derived requirements.
  • Provides support to lead engineers in developing technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans, and procedures, configuration analysis, and processing solutions, and test conformance to specifications.
  • Ensures technical performance, quality, and adherence to schedule.
  • Follows processes in conformance with established policies and objectives.
  • Coordinates the efforts of technical support personnel.
  • Provides technical consultation to internal organizations and/or customers.
  • Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
  • Participates in design reviews.
  • Travels when required to support customer installation, demonstrations, and general field support.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in product development a plus (preferably in military application environment).
  • Experience with type 1 encryption products and cyber security.
  • Presentation and communication skills (verbal/written/visual).
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Understanding in coordination of project(s) and efforts of technical support personnel.
  • Ability to productively contribute work, ideas, and collaboration as part of a team.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
