The Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care. This role requires a strong foundation in respiratory therapy, with a focus on critical care and ventilation management.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers as necessary.
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Neonate Resuscitation or STABLE certification within 60 months of employment start date.
