Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Diagnostic Retina Photographer to join our team at Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island. As a key member of our diagnostic team, you will play a vital role in supporting our ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Test and record patients' visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception
  • Apply anesthetics, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect specimens for testing
  • Triage emergency cases and maintain patient flow
  • Prepare patient and procedure rooms and assist ophthalmologists with procedures as needed
  • Perform first-level maintenance on equipment and notify the office manager of any malfunctions

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Outgoing and comfortable interacting with patients daily
  • Dependable problem-solver with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Familiarity with ocular pharmacology and infection control techniques

Compensation:

Our salary range is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, and we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
