Medical Imaging Specialist

Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment.
About the RoleThis position requires adherence to professional and departmental protocols to provide high-quality diagnostic images for physicians to identify and/or plan appropriate treatment for patients' conditions. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong behavior and communication skills that align with Christus Health's mission, values, and culture.
Responsibilities- Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Ensures radiation safety and proper waste disposal by following federal, state, and hospital policies.
- Daily documents calibrations, flood films, dose calibrator accuracy checks, hot lab area surveys, dispensed pharmaceuticals, and radioactive source disposal.
- Handles radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures with caution at all times.
- Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by physicians according to established procedures.
- Performs quality control tests and documents results according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates adherence to CHRISTUS Health's CORE Values.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, candidates should have:
- A graduate degree from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of experience in clinical nuclear medicine settings required; 2 years of experience in clinical Radiology settings preferred.
- Current State Licensure required.
- BLS certification required.
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.
The work schedule varies depending on the needs of the department.
This is a per diem as-needed position.
