Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor to join our team at Dollar General. As a key member of our distribution center operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, stocking, and shipment of merchandise, as well as supervising employees who operate rolling stock equipment and automated systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze WMS reports to identify areas for improvement and notify WMS personnel of any shutdowns or failures.
  • Utilize Standard Operating Procedures to resolve and correct problems, and communicate issues to the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
  • Review reports to determine daily department staffing levels and review staffing plans with the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve labor utilization and reduce costs.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly staffing reviews with the Inbound/Outbound Manager to ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Partner with the Training Department to monitor new employee development and tracking.
  • Plan and implement daily production goals and objectives.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Review and analyze quality measurements and report status to the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Support and implement safety programs to reduce or eliminate employee injuries.
  • Conduct annual employee reviews and merit increase evaluations.
  • Interview and select candidates for employment in partnership with the Human Resources department.
  • Perform counseling sessions and make recommendations for employee discipline or termination.
Requirements
  • Understanding of inventory accounting and management principles.
  • Knowledge of specific inbound or outbound functions within the distribution center.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated skills necessary to assist employees in conflict resolution and one-to-one communication.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including interviewing skills.
  • Computer skills, including warehouse management systems, Word, Excel, and payroll/personnel systems such as KRONOS.
  • Automated distribution center experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred.
