As a vital member of the executive leadership team, the CPO plays a crucial role in advancing the foundation's mission and overall success. This position entails leading the design, execution, and oversight of programmatic services and community outreach efforts. The CPO is tasked with monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of these services, substantiating findings with objective metrics. The CPO will also enhance program processes, optimize resource distribution, and cultivate a culture of operational excellence.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the department.
- Hold overall accountability for all direct program personnel.
- Develop, implement, and assess a professional development plan for staff that addresses the needs of constituents.
Program Development and Oversight:
- Direct the development and execution of programs in alignment with strategic objectives.
- Set measurable and attainable goals for program areas annually and track progress.
- Oversee the coordination and delivery of programs, fostering collaborative relationships among program areas to meet expectations of clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Attract, retain, train, and mentor staff, ensuring accountability for high-quality work and goal achievement.
- Foster a culture of high performance and accountability across program teams, aligned with core values.
- Collaborate with program directors to establish evaluation methods for program outcomes and leverage resources to enhance results.
- Stay informed about trends in the educational landscape; innovate new program ideas and pilot initiatives based on community feedback.
- Work alongside the Chief Financial Officer to budget and oversee program operations, ensuring sound fiscal management.
- Allocate resources effectively towards organizational objectives, balancing workloads and activities across teams.
Internal Collaboration:
- Build and maintain partnerships across various program areas, promoting knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
- Supervise program directors to enhance their leadership capabilities and engage program staff.
- Provide strategic guidance to program directors in planning and management for improved effectiveness.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance and effective administration.
- Lead the establishment of staff goals and assess results against program impact and effectiveness.
External Collaboration:
- Develop external partnerships with organizations to ensure high-quality program delivery.
- Coordinate with the executive leadership on resource development for new and existing programs.
- Act as a liaison with key funders and represent the foundation at relevant committees and speaking engagements.
- Build strategic partnerships to leverage resources and expertise for programmatic success.
Organizational Leadership:
- Contribute as a member of the executive leadership team, influencing the strategic planning and management of the organization.
